Home Sweet Home- Gone!

The charming house that we called home for 8 years was torn down today. It was sad to see it go,
I felt like I was a witness and shed a few tears for the  two or three families that had called that place home. I thought of the hopes and dreams, the happy times, the sad times, 75 years it has sheltered and  protected little families like ours. How blessed we were to call it home, and how blessed we were that  the Lord provided this  place for us to live, and to be surrounded by such great neighbors. I thought of all the people that have stayed with us and the parties that we had there, and how much we loved living on Olympus Drive. It was certainly showing its age and needed to have many things replaced. But it is sad how so many of the homes in this neighborhood are being torn down to build large expensive homes. It is also sad and amazing  that they can be taken down in a matter of minutes.
We wouldn't have even known it was going to be torn down today, if yesterday I hadn't followed a big truck like they ones they hall away torn down houses in, down  the street, I was sure it was headed to our house. I saw that the garage had been torn down and asked if they were doing the house too and they told me that they would be doing it in the morning at 8:00am. So we all came and watched I let the boys go late to school so we could see it.

About a half hour is all it took to knock it down.

This is what it looked like at 3:oopm today.
We love the new home we live in,we don't have alot of storage space, but we have a nice sized living room and a good kitchen, we really don't know how long we will be here, we are just around the corner from our old place. It is on the busy street and doesn't have the neighborly feel. But we are again blessed to be here.
We had our I Love You Party on Sunday evening, with 29 of us here. We had maids of honor of course and the cousins exchanged Valentines and we  read some old letters from some of the boys when I was away from home. We laughed at them as some of the boys read the letters that they had written or had to write to me over 20 years ago.
And by the way Jeff can cook good now!!!
Here are some pictures from our party, you can kind of get a look at the house too.

It is very sad. What a waste. So your new house looks nice. And it looks like it was a fun party. We wish we could have been there. It looks like your maids of honor turned out better than mine. LOVE YOU!
