Grandchild number 36

Introducing for the first time ever

Miss McKenna Reese Songster

This little wonder joined the world on Tuesday February 17th at 3:05pm. I'm not sure how detailed you want the information, so if there is something you are curious about you may call me and I will tell you.

McKenna weighed 6pounds 2 ounces and 19" long. She is such a tiny little peanut. She is very sweet and so far Lauren has loved her, testing the limits other ways, but loving McKenna.

So does Grandma (but she is a little tuckered out from taking care of Lauren to enjoy her while she is awake). I woke up from my nap to see them sleeping on the couch together, so cute.

I thought that I should include that I'm expecting to get more comments on this post than Michael and Paola's post on their new house, after all, babies are way more exciting than houses :)

I guess I should comment since you are such a comment snob....ahhhh cute baby!!! And I thought you said you were going to spell it Makenna???Did you change it again? I told my one of my coworkers her name and he said he was always conscious of what the initals would do....your little Miss McKenna Resse Songster is already a MRS!!!!

We did change the spelling. When they came in to do the verification of for the birth certificate Makenna looked really funny because all I could see was "Make." Jeff wasn't at the hospital so I called him using a nurse's cell phone because I didn't know where my was (of course). I had him write it out and decided a capital K was easier to write in cursive than a lower case one in the middle, and his mom maiden name is McKain. So there is family relevance "McK."

We will call her Reese. We think it is a lot cutier even if it is more difficult to say (if I can say it fast, I'm sure everybody else can manage). Felicidades guys, we are really happy for the 4 of you!!!
By the way we don't mind if you receive more comments than us. A baby is a bigger investment than a house anyway... :>) We hope to visit soon to see the baby!!!

Its fine if you call her Reese. Jeff still does because we called her that for so long before she was born. She'll just be one of those girls with more than one name. You can't please everyone I guess.

We will call her "peanut butter cup." I hope she doesn't have any peanut allergies. She's beautiful and I am glad she's here safe and sound. Now the fun begins. Greg's favorite line from Home Improvement is "You want to know what causes sibling rivalry, having more than one kid." Jacob liked both Lorelei and Madalyn until they started moving in his general direction. Anyway, love to you all!
